New Reviews for "Trading Post" in Jazz Times and All About Jazz!

10.02.09
Two new reviews for the recording "Trading Post" are currently in publication. Please follow the link for the All About Jazz Review. The Jazz Times review is in the October 2009 edition. Please read below!

"While celebrating their Southerness, these four outstanding players-Memphis pianist Michael Jefry Stevens, Nashville saxophonist Don Aliquo, Nashville drummer Tom Giampietro and Mississippi bassist Jonathan Wires-are evry bit as delicate, sophisticated and interactively swinging as their Nortern counterparts. Highlights include a beautiful take on Andrew Hill's "ashes", Wires' flowing waltz-time "Out in the World", Aliquo's free-blowing "Chant" and his gorgeous ballad "Longing". This is meaningful and moving stuff by a first-rate crew of improvisers."

Launch Related Site
